In 1985 Heirlooms, founder and owner originated the antique and estate jewelry class, now offered in the gemology program at Rancho Santiago College in Orange, California.  She is a graduate of that program as

a certified gemologist, with a lifetime teaching credential on this subject. This course is still part of the curriculum today.
